Beyonce' completed the Los Angeles leg of her highly anticipated Rennaissance 2023 Tour on September 1st, 2nd, and 4th. I had the pleasure of watching Queen Bey live on the third day which happened to also be Beyonce's 42nd birthday. It was an epic experience and definitely one for the history books. Mrs. Carter knows how to put on a show and it was worth every penny and minute of my time. She opened the show at exactly 9:04 pm the date of her birth (9/4) giving gratitude for her family, loved ones, and another trip around the sun. Beyonce's work ethic is unmatched as many jokingly stated that working on your birthday is something they'd opt out of; Beyonce' showed us all why she's hailed Queen Bey on Bey Day LA. Some sources alleged that 60,000 were in attendance making this the largest audience on the North American portion of the tour. "We showed up and showed out", for Queen Bey. "I hope this H-town girl felt this California love".
Bey Day LA was a star-studded event. Some refer to Mrs. Carter as "the celebrity's celebrity", all of the big names in Hollywood (sports, entertainment, shot callers, and big ballers) were in attendance. Kaytranada graced the stage as an opening act serenading our ears with fine tunes and there were guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar who joined Beyonce' on stage to perform 'America Has a Problem' and a beautiful birthday tribute was given by the original diva Ms. Diana Ross. A living legend brought out the legends. I have attended my share of concerts but this experience was like no other. From the moment she joined the stage, the crowd was standing room only. I literally was on my feet dancing, shouting, and partying almost the entire 3-hour show. I felt as though we were fortunate enough to attend a grand extravaganza, a V.I.P. fiesta.
Beyonce's stage presence, and the synchronicity of her dancers, band, and production are unmatched. The strategic placement of her visuals, costume designs, and her ability to freestyle, improvise, and adlib at a moment's notice is impeccable. Beyonce' is one of few artists who gives her fans a balance of live vocals, high-energy dance moves, and charisma. There is no doubting her expertise and longevity in dominating the R&B genre. The hive was live in full effect filling the audience with black and yellow balloons and night three also had to redeem Los Angeles for failing the "everybody on mute challenge" the first two nights, and we killed that $h!t. I'm proud of us. The skill and tenacity Beyonce' exudes is perfection encapsulated.
It was beautiful seeing everyone grant her wish to wear silver to her remaining shows, hell, Yonce' even had me breaking out the arts and crafts as I designed a Renaissance-themed parasol my tribute to our Louisiana Creole roots. I feel fortunate to have experienced an artist of this magnitude in my lifetime. It was truly a night to remember. Thank you for sharing your Bey Day with us!
