The music makers gave us something to enjoy during Memorial Day weekend. Graced with albums from Rapsody, Vince Staples, and Vedo. Rapsody's display of authenticity in her music and image is consistent with her delivery of lyricism. She's a hip-hop class act with a classic aura and a modern touch. New Singles and upcoming albums from Fana Hues and Duran Bernarr, who doesn't miss a note. His single "Fist Bump" is a soulful and funky bop, and Fana's "Rental" is a girly good time with a flare of disco/pop. Tinashe is taking over social media with her hit single 'Nasty". Tinashe', Duran, and Fana paired their singles with intriguing and eye-stimulating visuals. Nappy Roots released "Play Clothes," and B.O.B. dropped "Steve Harvey"; like the song titles, the singles are fun and a bit comical and light-hearted music.
Hit-Boy, Big Hit, and Alchemist are still representing the West with their collaborative project, Black and White, introducing Hit Boy's younger sister, Hit Girl Lena, on their single "Gank Move." Lena's direct and demanding debut definitely left listeners anticipating what else she has in store. "Fucc Glasses Malone," no shade, is the title of G. Malone's latest album, featuring songs with Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Terrace Martin, Kurupt, and Xzibit. The album's title seems to be a play on the sentiments of some of his nemeses and his ability to alchemize their disdain into art while simultaneously waking up the West Coast sound.
